Palapa Mexican Grill
I have been coming to Palapa Mexican Grill since it first opened twenty something years ago. In all that time, little has changed, and the quality of the food has remained top notch. As a personal favorite, I consider Palapa's to be the best Mexican food in Simi Valley. Some would disagree with me in it being the best, but most would agree that it deserves its spot on the list of best Mexican Restaurants in Simi Valley.
If you were to judge a Mexican food restaurant by their chicken or shrimp fajitas, then you couldn't get much better than Palapa's. They come out hot, steaming, and full of flavor. Another personal favorite is the Chile Verde burrito. It is huge, filling, and always delicious. They also have amazing salsa that is made fresh daily. It may be a bit spicy for some, but it is full of flavor.
El Pollo Corona Grill
I am ashamed to admit that I didn't know about El Pollo Corona Grill for much too long. Our go to restaurant for grilled chicken was El Pollo Loco for years. However, the quality of the food just kept getting worse and worse until we were forced to find an alternative. Wow, we had been missing out all of these years! El Pollo Corona Grill is a hidden gem that serves grilled chicken, tri tip, and all the standard Mexican dishes. I've always said, if you want great Mexican food, go where the Mexicans go. This place is packed every night, and for good reason. My personal favorite is the chicken burrito, which is so big, it can be two full meals. The restaurant is a bit small, but there is outdoor seating, and it is great for takeout.
Mariachi Loco Grill & Cantina
Another place for great food is Mariachi Loco Grill & Cantina. It is renowned for its delectable chicken and cheese enchiladas, and if you've ever tried them, you would understand why it is considered one of the best Simi Valley Mexican restaurants. According to their website, their goal is to bring the heart and soul of Mexico to Simi Valley, one dish at a time. In that they have succeeded. Although known for their enchiladas, my favorite is the crispy asada taco and crispy pork belly taco.
Fast N Fresh Mexican Grill
Fast N Fresh Mexican Grill offers a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes, be sure to not miss out on Taco Tuesday. The service is fast, and the food is fresh, hey, that's in the name! There are many Mexican food restaurants in Simi Valley that are delicious, but a bit pricey. Fast N Fresh Mexican Grill is delicious, but also easy on the wallet. With every order you are also served fresh chips, bean dip, and salsa, you can't go wrong with that! The burritos are great, the crispy tacos are delicious, and the atmosphere is always friendly. If you are in the mood for delicious food, we definitely recommend this restaurant.
Maria's Restaurant
Maria's Restaurant is a go-to destination for those craving exceptional Mexican cuisine. Unlike most Mexican Restaurants, they combine authentic Mexican cuisine with modern Latin dishes, creating a fusion of taste that will keep you coming back. The staff are extremely friendly and the menu offers a great selection of dishes. I find the nachos to be simple, but perfectly delectable. They offer tortas, which are tough to find in Simi Valley, as well as all of your favorite Mexican specialties, including Carne Asada, Chicken Mole, Carnitas, Fajitas, and Quesadillas, just to name a few.
